Jonathan Malagón

Minister of Housing, City and Territory

  • He is an economist graduated with honors from the National University of Colombia and a business administrator from the University of London. He has a Master's Degree (MPA) in Economic Policy from Columbia University, a Master's Degree in Finance from the University of Barcelona and a PhD in Economics from Tilburg University.

  • He was elected as one of the 100 Young Global Leaders according to the World Economic Forum (2019), as well as belonging to the world’s 100 most influent leaders in the Government according to APOLITICAL (2018), he is also part of the list of the 10 economists of the future in Latin America according to Latin Trade magazine (2015). Among other recognitions, he was one of the 25 world winners of the Eisenhower Fellowship Global (2017) and he was elected as the best Economy Student in Colombia according to the Portafolio Awards (2006).

  • He was vice-president of ASOBANCARIA, director of Economical analysis of FEDESARROLLO, General manager of the program COMPARTEL, Management Control Manager, assistant of the CEO and chief of Economical Studies of Telefónica Colombia as well as researcher in ANIF. He belonged to the executive boards of the National Guarantee Fund (FNG in spanish), UNIPRAVI, FELABAN, Bankers' and Businessmen's club, the Anti-cancer League, and the Global Future Council for the Finance of the World Economic Forum. He also served as consultant of the CAF, the World Bank and the UNDP.
